Challenge 2014 - Week 24

"Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it."

This Week

Mountain pictures are almost too easy out here. I needed a little more. I have frequently stated that Tahoma (Mt. Rainier to foreigners) is in Tacoma's backyard. Compared to Seattle, we live on top of a mountain. Tacoma and its surroundings have grown over the years. Due to sprawl, you could even argue that the area's growth is climbing the mountain. Since the mountain itself has protection as a national park, there are limits to how far the growth will climb. Without those protections, a huge source of happiness in our region would be harmed by those who want to live on top of our mountain.

I felt that a developed part of Tacoma with Tahoma in the background would fit this quote. Last year, I went on a free boat ride exploring the Port of Tacoma.

The Port of Tacoma has been an area of growth next to our favorite mountain.

Flickr Friday

I had no time available to pursue Flickr Friday this week. I never even wrote down the theme.
