236 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 236 days away. Today's Picture:
Common Loon
Taken on October 19, 2014

Common Loons (Gavia immer) are primarily seen during migration season. This species has breeding and non-breeding plumage, so they might not be very interesting this time of year. If you pay close attention and get the right angle, you can usually see remnants of their collar when they appear in the fall. They also have steeper foreheads than our less common loon species.
