179 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 179 days away. We have had at least five winters in a row when an American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) has spent the winter in the park. the first three were a male like the one in this picture. We are in the second consecutive year with a female. Generally speaking, look for perches around the Central Meadow. This year, you might want to head for the East Slope Trail. I should provide a quick warning that this year's Kestrel has not been very cooperative.
