198 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 198 days away. Today's Picture:
Common Goldeneye
Taken on December 2, 2011

Overall, I would say winter is better than summer for birds. While we do get some interesting nesting species such as Ospreys in the summer, we seem to have more species in the winter. This is especially true with waterfowl. This one is a male Common Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula). This species is seen regularly this time of year on Chambers Creek and along the Puget Sound.
