123 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 123 days away. Today's Picture:
Double-crested Cormorants
Taken on February 15, 2013

When we lost the old docks, the Cormorants lost a couple spots that they love. Brandt's and Pelagic Cormorants are now harder to find an identify. Pretty much all of their recent sightings are somewhat distant. Double-crested Cormroants (Phalacrocorax auritus), our lone species that is not isolated to salt water, can still be found regularly along Chambers Creek. A dead branch near the bridge over Chambers Creek seen here is among the spots that these birds have been known to use.

I had to pick another bird because today is day 3 of the Great Backyard Bird Count. For more information, visit http://gbbc.birdcount.org.
