11 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 11 days away. Pied-billed Grebe

This is a young Pied-billed grebe (Podilymbus podiceps). I have seen them smaller than this, and I'm fairly convinced that they couldn't have flown to this pond near the Central Meadow restroom. I think that it's safe to say that they nested there.
