327 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 327 days away. In case you missed it, I have been paying closer attention than usual to our Purple Martins (Progne subis) this year. There are plans to remove the dock where they are known to nest. When they announced that they were targeting the summer for the dock removal, I decided that I needed to watch and share observations. Yesterday, I saw the young for the first time this year. I have already posted to eBird and made a special blog post just for the martins. This is one of my favorites from yesterday's batch. There's a bit of action and you can make out all five of the young.
