I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 305 days away. Peregrine Falcons (Falco peregrinus) certainly aren't everyday sightings, but they're not rare. It's kind of difficult to pinpoint a best spot to look for them since I have seen them numerous places such as the railroad bridge over Chambers Creek, the so-called Swing Set at the Central Meadow, the South Beach, near the Bald Eagle nest, and across Chambers Creek from the East Slope Trail. I have also had several seen in flight. This is perhaps my closest encounter. It flew to the fence that encloses the temporary dog park.
