266 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 266 days away. Today's Picture:
Common Raven
Taken on August 23, 2012

While most people are familiar with Crows, a lot of people overlook another bird in the same genus. This is a Common Raven (Corvus corax). They are identified by their larger size, their wedge-shaped tail (that's how most people describe it, although I frequently compare the shape to a diamond), and their deeper voice. Most of my sightings have been along the beach and near the switchbacks above the Central Meadow. The switchbacks are an especially good spot to look on windy days as Ravens (and other large birds) like to use the updrafts caused by the wind hitting the hill.
