Canada and Cackling Geese might be the most familiar geese at the park, but they are not the only species we see. There are three other species that have been known to use the park. This is a Greater White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons). Although a small flock visited in October 2013, most sightings seem to involve a single goose mixing with another species. They are named for the white patch at the base of the bill. The speckled belly of the adults is also a good field mark for identification.
