258 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 258 days away. Today's Picture:
Greater White-fronted Goose
Taken on October 3, 2013

Canada and Cackling Geese might be the most familiar geese at the park, but they are not the only species we see. There are three other species that have been known to use the park. This is a Greater White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons). Although a small flock visited in October 2013, most sightings seem to involve a single goose mixing with another species. They are named for the white patch at the base of the bill. The speckled belly of the adults is also a good field mark for identification.
