This Week
I didn't have many ideas for this week's challenge, and I only have two pictures to share publicly. While I have been told that there should be no more spiders for the challenges, the spider web did not contain a spider. I felt like I could get away with it. The Dudley Do-Right picture took a bit more work. I was tempted to add that he was forsaking (another challenge word) mental ability, but there were concerns that people might not get what I was saying. As for the picture itself, I resorted to HDR because I was struggling with the lighting. I hated the original background, so I put up a blue sheet to hide the distractions. After I put everything away, I was wondering if I could get away with an improvised chroma key element. I took pictures of simple tree backgrounds today. I didn't want anything to stand out since it was meant to be a background. Hopefully, nobody complains that there is rain in the background while the table remains dry. When I tried to replace the blue, I couldn't get rid of an ugly edge around the bear. I found a plug-in for Paint.Net, and it worked well enough for me. The blue tint of the sheet reflecting off of the table resulted in a little transparency to the table, but I felt that if a sheet could reflect, so could the trees. That means I used 4 shots (3 HDR + 1 background) in that 1 final picture.

I still have that backlog going. Even though I never had any interesting ideas pop into my head as a potential starting point, I probably would have pursued this one if I wasn't worried about higher priorities.
