Challenge - Week 40

This week's quote comes from a scripture. Since I am not comfortable using my blog to promote what I do not believe, I will only provide the words that I pursued:

Many, Revelations, Obtain, Trees, Mountains, Waves of the sea

This Week

<rant>For the first time ever, my hatred of our mentally destructive schools has made an appearance on Flickr. There was a cross-country track meet. I remember talking about my problems with this event. I mentioned that the first time that I walked with the event going on, there were a bunch of students/mindless drones/mental prisoners taking up the trail. When I tried to get around them, they started walking into me. The exact same thing happened this time. If people don't want to get stuck in the middle of these groups, the participants should at least let them get around. This backs what I keep saying. People with a decade of schooling are generally morons.</rant>

I should point out that I reused a picture. When I went after Tahoma for this week's challenge, I decided to use it for Flickr Friday as well. Since people are more likely to find my picture for that pool, that description was given a priority. I also used "family photo challenge" in the description to clarify the section that wasn't dedicated to the Flickr Friday photo challenge (I usually just refer to these pictures as "challenge")

Pictures

Challenge 40 - RevelationsI knew the MV Chetzmoka had to be approaching Point Defiance, but the fog was hiding it. I stuck around until its REVELATION.
Challenge 40 - Waves of the SeaThe Salish Sea was calm this weekend. Since I didn't have my macro lens, I really couldn't get a shot of any waves. This is about as close as I came as this Double-crested Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus) left mini-WAVES OF THE Salish SEA in its wake.
Challenge 40 - ObtainThis Double-crested Cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus) has OBTAINED a fish for what had to be a filling meal.
Challenge 40 - TreesThe sun was coming up behind the TREES at Point Defiance and hitting some lingering fog for a nice display of crepuscular rays.
Challenge 40 - ManyThere were MANY mental prisoners (students) on the Central Meadow for a cross-country track meet. There were a lot more than seen in this picture, but a gaggle of mindless drones started drifting in my direction. I was too busy playing dodge drone to get a better shot.
TahomaDo I really have to explain how Tahoma fits a challenge for a MOUNTAIN?

Other ideas

I could have easily put more words into my pictures, especially the ferry. Each picture was primarily meant to represent one of the words I pursued. I didn't want to add words since it wouldn't fit as well with my approach this week. More specifically, I could have said that I SEARCHED for the ferry and WITNESSED its REVELATION. I also considered taking a picture of the Brain for Obey. With 6 pictures already selected for the week, I thought that I would be nice. I handed off the idea. Who knows if the idea will be used.

Flickr Friday - After Dark

As a morning person, the Flickr Friday theme of "After dark" didn't exactly excite me. Then an interesting thought occured. I could take the phrase literally. What comes after dark? Light. I was already going after a mountain for a family photo challenge, so I went for Tahoma around the end of dark and start of light (sunrise).
