358 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 358 days away. Today's Picture:

Taken on June 25, 2009

It's about time that I shared one of our Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus). These birds are known to nest above Chambers Creek, and sightings are not rare. This time of year, you might want to start searching for Eagles near the Ospreys. You might see an Osprey taking a fish home to its nest just to attract an Eagle that wants the fish. If this happens, the Osprey might drop the fish and chase the Eagle away from the nest. This is actually one of my older pictures. I took it back when I only had a 250mm lens. This was minimal cropping only to center the Eagle (it looked funny with the very edge of one wing clipped and blue over the other wing). That means this bird was close.
