248 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 248 days away. Today's Picture:
Brandt's Cormorant
Taken on October 13, 2013

Each winter, hundreds of Brandt's Cormorants (Phalacrocorax penicillatus) find the North Dock. While they have lives beyond that dock, they can frequently be seen lining it. Because the county is removing the old docks, this is going to change. I expect sightings to see a drastic decline. It's one of three cormorant species that we attract, and the most numerous. All three use the North Dock, sometimes at the same time. For this particular species look for the light patch near the base of the bill.
