193 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 193 days away. Today's Picture:
Horned Grebe
Taken on December 21, 2014

The Horned Grebe (Podiceps auritus) is one of our two reliable species of grebe in the winter. They can be found swimming on Chambers Creek and along the Puget Sound, usually closer to shore than Red-necked Grebes. This species is relatively plain this time of year. The red around the eye and the fairly short bill in comparison to the Red-necks can help with identification.
