94 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 94 days away. Today's Picture:
Red Crossbill
Taken on March 8, 2014

This is a yellow Red Crossbill (Loxia curvirostra). You might want a little explanation to what I mean by that. The species is known as the Red Crossbill. This is because the male is red. Females such as this one are yellow. I used yellow as an adjective to describe the color of this Red Crossbill, which is why I called it a yellow Red Crosbill. As a bit of a side note, it is not common practice to capitalize species names. I like to do it myself, and I think this helps show the benefit of this approach.
