328 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 328 days away. Red-winged Blackbirds (Agelaius phoeniceus) are definitely among our most cooperative smaller birds in the area. Look for cattails. The best spot to find them in the park is along a small pond at the bottom of switchbacks near the Central Meadow. The female, seen here, isn't as distinctive or generally as cooperative as the male. This is why photographers tend to focus more on the males. Even though males are generally better targets, the females still provide opportunities to get some decent pictures.
