304 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 304 days away. Even after they learn to fly, our local Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) are known to periodically return to their nest. Last year, I managed to get a shot of all three of the kids together on the nest in mid August. One thing that you might notice in this picture is that the nest has fallen apart. This is typical. Ospreys are not particularly strong at nest building. This year, their nest has held together better than usual. Perhaps the so-called Swing Set has something better for them to build against.
