Challenge 2014 - Week 31

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time."
-John Lubbock

This Week

I felt that a lot of this quote could be found in our yearly kite festival. Rest could be a kite resting on the ground or a person sitting on the grass watching. Either case, that could be tied to lying on the grass. It's definitely summer. The presence of the evil fireball of death and the lack of wind will point to the season. You can see the Puget Sound from the Central Meadow, so I can always tie in the murmur of water. While there wasn't much in the way of cloud cover, we had kites floating across the sky. We also had some bubbles this year. I didn't quite get the shot I wanted. I wasn't about to wait until mid-scorch for the mass ascension even though I wanted a few more kites in the air. I also couldn't find a good angle on a kite lying on the grass for the foreground.

I at least knew what this week's theme was. I'm getting even further behind with my backlog, so it is even harder for me to justify the pursuit. Alien won't cut it.
