272 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 272 days away. Today's Picture:
Bald Eagles
Taken on July 11, 2014

I know. I should have posted this picture a couple months ago. Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) are known to nest along Chambers Creek. There were two young this year. The shot above was taken after they started flying. Bald Eagles are seen year-round near this nest, but sightings aren't nearly as reliable outside of nesting season. The nest can be seen from the area next to the dam on Chambers Creek. You have to look quite a bit downstream. There will be four or five taller trees standing out on the hill. From this angle, it will be the rightmost tree in this group. You can get closer, but you lose the angle. These trees can also be seen from behind the Purple Martin nesting boxes along the beach. I'm not as good at explaining the location from there. I was bad enough at that last explanation. I would recommend familiarizing yourself with what the trees look like before trying to figure out this alternative angle.
