282 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 282 days away. Today's Picture:
Red-tailed Hawk
Taken on September 9, 2012

Red-tailed Hawks (Buteo jamaicensis) are widespread in the region. This is probably why they don't seem to excite people the same way as our Ospreys and Eagles. They can be seen year round at the park. One of the best areas to look for them is by the East Slope Trail, but there is a chance to find them pretty much anywhere. They also nest by the old mill, but that nest is not the best to watch. This is especially true right now as we are well outside of nesting season.
