Challenge 2014 - Week 35

"October gave a party; The leaves by hundreds came - The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples, And leaves of every name. The Sunshine spread a carpet, And everything was grand, Miss Weather lead the dancing, Professor Wind the band."

This Week

This one felt like a challenge that would require me to create a scene of some sort. It's Tuesday. I haven't got anything yet, and the heat is about to start slowing me down again. I hate summer. I decided to go to plan B. I had a picture of a tree, likely a maple, that was changing colors. It wasn't marked in my collection as a challenge photo. Flickr, however, disagreed with my notes. I have used that one, so I had absolutely nothing in my collection taken within the last year (rules of the challenge) that was usable.

I decided to throw together a Simpsons scene. I used pieces of colored paper for leaves (I had no confetti). Instead of the evil fireball of death spreading a carpet, I used the leaves. I used Dancin' Homer and Disco Stu to represent the dancing. The band consisted of Lisa and Bleeding Gums Murphy. I should point out that Mr. Largo was released in the first series of figures that I didn't buy, so I couldn't include him. I added a calendar flipped to October in the background just to add one more word.

This shot was a bit rushed. If I had time, I might have made more leaves or even dropped some on the scene. Perhaps Disco Stu's disco ball could have also been used. Unfortunately, I don't have the time for that.

Flickr Friday - Jet Lag

Sorry for repeating myself, but I am not actively pursuing Flickr Friday themes at this time. I am dealing with an enormous backlog. This one was not a lob, so I'm skipping.
