254 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 254 days away. It looks like one of our most familiar ducks, the Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), has managed to evade my countdown so far. This is one of two duck species that can be found somewhat reliably throughout the year, although we have a significantly higher totals visiting the park in winter. They can be found pretty much anywhere that we have water. The best spot to find them is along Chambers Creek. This female was seen on the beach.
