297 Days until the US Open at Chambers Bay

I have been walking Chambers Creek Properties for years. I have been carrying a camera since 2009. With the US Open coming to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, which is part of the property, I have decided to share a picture each day for the 365 days leading up to the tournament. The US Open is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2015. As of today, we are 297 days away. Today's Picture:
Semipalmated Plover
Taken on August 25, 2012

The Killdeer is a species of plover seen regularly by Chambers Bay. It's not our only plover. The Semiplamated Plover (Charadrius semipalmatus) is not seen often. In fact, I have only recorded one twice at the park, both along the beach. This one appears to be young. The markings aren't as well defined as you would find on an adult, even outside of breeding season. This bird has only one breast-band, making it easy to distinguish from the Killdeer.
